Olga Papaemmanouil, Mitch Cherniack, and co-investigators at Brown received an NSF grant entitled “EAGER: Interaction History Management Systems and their Application to Evidence-Based Practice of Healthcare.”

Award

Liuba Shrira has been named a Lady Davis Fellow for her sabbatical this year at the Technion in Israel, where she will teach a class and continue research into high-performance storage systems.

New Chairman

Jordan Pollack has become the 4th chairman of the Brandeis Computer Science Department. He has a Ph.D. 1987 from University of Illinois and is best known for his work on evolutionary robotics.

Justice Brandeis Semester

The Justice Brandeis Semester in Web and Mobile Applications was offered for the first time in the Summer of 2010. This is an intensive summer program for Brandeis students (graduate and undergraduate) which consists of a suite of three closely related, co-requisite courses in Web and Mobile Applications. There is an optional Extended Semester version of the JBS program in which students continue on into the Fall with a full-time internship course as well as a readings course on web and mobile applications. Early decision applications will be accepted in late January followed by the usual application period in March.
