The MA in Computer Science

Our graduate program in Computer Science offers courses and research opportunities in many of the core areas of Computer Science: databases, programming languages, artificial intelligence, networks and distributed and parallel computing, data compression, human computer interaction and collaborative technology. You will have the opportunity to take courses and do research in many of the emerging interdisciplinary fields associated with Computer Science, such as neural nets and dynamical systems, computation linguistics, computational biology, and educational technology.

Requirements for the MA in Computer Science

The Computer Science department offers a three semester Masters of Arts degree for students who have completed a BA or BS in Computer Science or a closely related field. The minimum degree requirements are an approved schedule of nine courses numbers 100 or above which must include at least three courses from group A and three from group B, as specified in the bulletin. There is also a 3 semester minimum residency requirement.
