Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Computer Science

This two semester program has been designed for bright students who completed a major in a non-Computer Science field and who have decided they want to move into Computer Science as a career. The program assumes students have taken a course in Java programming and packs most of the requirements for a BA in Computer Science into eight courses over two semesters. The program can be taken at a lower rate of work for those that want to complete it on a part-time basis.

Requirements

The minimum requirements for the certificate are

Introductory courses

• COSI 12b: Advanced Programming Techniques
• COSI 21a: Data Structures and Fundamentals of Computing

Core courses:

• COSI 29a: Discrete Structures
• COSI 31a: Computer System Structures and Organization

Electives

At least four additional COSI courses, including at least one course from the breadth and depth requirements group A and at least one from the breadth and depth requirements group B.
