Meet Me

I used to hate writing about myself, as I prefer to stay in the shadows and quietly get things done. But job-hunting in this crazy economy has forced me to put myself out there in all sorts of ways. I enjoy learning and teaching myself about how things work, and I take great pleasure in turning around and using my knowledge to teach others. I love it when people ask me questions, even if I have to search for the answers.

I have been working backstage since junior high school, when my parents (who met at a cast party in college) roped me in to run the curtain on a community theater production of Auntie Mame where my mother was the Stage Manager and my father was the Technical Director. Aside from a few mis-adventures in the spotlight, I've been doing tech work ever since.

Until very recently, I was working for the University of San Diego in a multi-faceted position. I served as the Production Manager and Technical Director for the Undergraduate Theatre Arts Program, as well as for the joint USD-Old Globe Theatre MFA Acting Program. I also served as the Theatre Manager for USD's Shiley Theatre, and taught the Undergraduate program's technical theatre course.

And in my free time, I work as the Technical Director for the San Diego production of Triple Espresso. Triple Espresso is based out of Minneapolis, with several productions running around the world. San Diego is their longest running city, and we're also the longest running show in the history of San Diego.

Before working for USD, I was freelancing as a theater/AV technician and a computer consultant. I have a background in theatrical production management and in tech support.
