Joshua Eric Introne
I received my Ph.D. in August 2008 from the Computer Science Department at Brandeis University. During my graduate studies I was a Scientist, and then a Senior Scientist at Charles River Analytics, Inc.. Prior to the start of my graduate studies I graduated cum laude from Bowdoin College with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Research
My early thesis work focused upon the design of adaptive groupware. Towards the end of my graduate career, I focused intensely upon building tools to support collaborative decision making.

I have developed the point of view that something we might call intelligence exists at many nested levels of organization. Individual intelligence, being something we experience directly, is just easier for us humans to believe in.

My goal is to understand what intelligence is beyond the individual. I use computer mediated communication as a lens for examining group intelligence, and a tool for improving it.
