Multiple-Choice Examiner is a general purpose Java applet intended as an aid in preparing for multiple-choice exams. It accepts a question bank in a specific format (see Question Banks) which should accomodate a variety of multiple-choice tests.
The question bank format is based on question banks for the FAA written exams, but should be general enough for other kinds of test. Currently, figures that may be required for some questions are not supported.
A question bank consists of a list of questions
separated by a blank line. Each question is of the following form:
[number] \t [category] \t [classification]
[question text]
[question text]
...
[question text]
A. [answer choice 1]
B. [answer choice 2]
...
N. [answer choice n]
[correct answer]
[explanation]
The current version has the following limitations: figures are not supported; each question is limited to 10 possible answers; scoring is very simple minded (no by-subject classification); questions can only be selected randomly from the question bank;
Add subject-sensitive question selection and scoring. Add score sensitive question selection (practice subject in which you have the lowest score, ect.). Support for figures and diagrams.
The sources for the preliminary version are available on the request only. Sources for the final version will be available on this page.
Please send any comments, suggestions and bugs to me.
