Based on the reactions from those who have seen this simulation, the digital manipulative may prove to be an interesting ``toy'' for children. However, since it has never actually been tried on children, it may be a false hope.
It should also be born in mind that this simulation is but a simulation and as such breaks one of the fundamental ideas behind this ``manipulative'', i.e. that the child should be manipulating physical object.
