Mac Shareware

I write programs to help me with my work. When I find a program is particularly useful, I try and fix it up for public consumption. The two programs I currently support are described below. The programs are available on Info-Mac, AOL, and various other public ftp sites.

Amorphia 1.1

Amorphia is a free-form database. What's a free-form database? A free-form database is one that contains one field for data entry, with no inherent order to the records. To retrieve data you run a search on text you know to be in the record. The database then retrieves all records with that text and lets you navigate between them until you find the specific record you want.

Read the MacWare Revue review of Amorphia.

One feature which I am adding(among many) to the next version will be WWW support. People running WWW servers on a Mac will be able to hook in Amorphia databases directly into their web site, with automated HTML generation.

There is also the possibility of a Windows version of Amorphia soon, if I find enough of a need for one. Interested? Let me know.

Small CD Audio Player 1.0a

Small CD Audio Player is designed to run your audio discs from your CD-ROM drive without taking up a lot of screen real estate. I orginally designed it to fit in the small space between where my word processing window ended on the right and the edge of the screen. It has all the basic controls for running the disc, like play, last track, next track, and eject. It also lets you skip to whichever track you want. The window can shrink down to even less than 1"x1".

I've actually written a few more, but none worth mentioning here.

Coming Attractions

I have a few other programs in the works, including a client for reading and annotating electronic books as well as a useful program for fixing up HTML files(including automated creation of navigation bars). These and other projects may or may not turn up in the future.
