References for HTML Style Suggestions

Several people have asked me for references about HTML style. Here's a list of the ones I have found most helpful. The Top Ten Mistakes is particularly helpful.
  1. Composing Good HTML An article about HTML style. I've found it very useful as an antidote to the tremendously overdone style which students seem to favor.
  2. Top Ten Mistakes in Web Design by Jakob Nielsen. A much shorter article, well worth looking at.
  3. HTML Beginner's GuideA good place to start for information on syntax.
  4. The Official Definition of HTML
  5. Information on Web spiders (robots), including information on how to tell automatic indexing tools to not index your page.
