References for HTML Style Suggestions
Several people have asked me for references about HTML style. Here's
a list of the ones I have found most helpful. The Top Ten Mistakes is
particularly helpful.
-
Composing Good HTML
An article about HTML style. I've found it very useful as an antidote
to the tremendously overdone style which students seem to favor.
-
Top Ten Mistakes in Web Design by Jakob Nielsen. A much shorter
article, well worth looking at.
-
HTML Beginner's GuideA good place to start for information on
syntax.
-
The Official
Definition of HTML
-
Information on Web spiders (robots), including
information on how to tell automatic indexing tools to not index your
page.
